To the Light

Bright, opened up as an eye watching wide.

Light falls down from sky to sea;
No waves, no wind, facing the end:
Silence now of daily sounds and wish.

A sward pierces the light.
Confused before the immensity,
Concrete a cross points up to the sky:
A silver way behind it, endless through the sea.

Lying on rocks, the humid stillness cold around:
By accident, no real reason, I am here.

Empowered by the light, the Cross claims the unanswered.
My liquid soul already shining, melting through the water.

I have been too long.
I have to leave.
My shoulders to the Cross:
Mute.
I hear the waves.

Dispersed through the mist, the last light before the night.
